Bible About Sandwiches with Caviar"Food does not commend us to God..." - God's Word says (The Bible, New Testament, First Epistle to Corinthians, chapter 8, verse 8). For instance, certain vegetarian refinement in Adolph Hitler's diet didn't fill his heart with mercy and love - he was responsible for the extermination of millions. Our salvation from sin does not come from the stomach but from Jesus Christ. But we also should not forget that eating certain kinds of food directly influences our state of health and the state of our bodies which are "the temple of the Holy Spirit in you" (The Bible, New Testament, First Epistle to Corinthians, chapter 6, verse 19). Here are some recommendations of the Bible referring to what food or, figuratively saying, what kind of building material we should use to build the body temple entrusted to us. In the first place stand fruit, nuts, cereals and vegetables. It was plant food which was on the paradise menu for man: "And God said, Behold! I have given you every herb seeding seed which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree in which is the fruit of a tree seeding seed; to you it shall be for food..." (The Bible, Old Testament, Genesis, chapter 1, verse 29). After the flood the menu of people who stayed alive was temporarily widened by means of meat. But, as is well known, nothing is more constant than temporary things. People eat meat up to the present time and unfortunately forgot that God divided it into clean and unclean, that is harmless and harmful for man's health. The Bible says about it: "You shall not eat any hateful thing. These are the animals which you shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat, the hart, and the gazelle, and the roe deer, and the wild goat, and the mountain goat, and the wild ox, and the mountain-sheep. And every animal that divides the hoof, and divides it into two hooves, and chews the cud among the animals, that you shall eat. But these you shall not eat, of those which chew the cud, or of those that divide the cloven hoof: the camel, and the hare, and the rock badger, for they chew the cud, but do not divide the hoof. They are unclean to you. And the swine, because it divides the hoof but does not chew the cud; it is unclean to you. You shall not eat of their flesh nor touch their dead body. These you shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales you shall eat. And whatever does not have fins and scales you shall not eat. It is unclean to you. You shall eat all clean birds. But you shall not eat of these: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the osprey, and the hawk, and the falcon, and the vulture after its kind, and every raven after its kind, and the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckoo, and the hawk after its kind, the little owl, and the great owl, and the swan, and the pelican, and the owl, and the cormorant, and the stork, and the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat. And every creeping thing that flies is unclean to you. They shall not be eaten. You may eat all clean fowls. You shall not eat anything that dies of itself..." (The Bible, Old Testament, Deuteronomy, chapter 14, verses 3-21). And at the end two remarks. First - note that mainly those representatives of the animal kingdom which have the function of cleaners and eat carrion are forbidden. Second - if you are offered a sandwich with black caviar, it would be better to reject it. Sturgeon fish have fins but instead of scales this kind of fish has growths. And salmon are quite all right - they have both fins and scales. So give preference to sandwiches with red caviar if you don't yet eat only paradise - that is plant food.
